Fall 2025 Groundwater Levels in the Yolo Subbasin

The graph shows the average depth to groundwater in the Yolo Subbasin over time, with colored bands indicating seasonal conditions.

The YSGA's 62 Representative Monitoring Wells throughout the Subbasin are each measured at least twice per year. The graph above shows the average water depth among all 62 wells and represents the general condition of the basin.

Fall 2025 water levels are around three feet above where they were this time last year, and this year's seasonal drawdown from spring to fall was slightly lower than that of 2024. While conditions have improved significantly from the historic 2020-2022 drought, it will take several years for the groundwater to fully recover from the drought. Average groundwater levels this fall are still around three feet lower than that of Fall 2019.
